WINTER WALK 2024 RE-EMERGES WITH ROBUST PROGRAMMING AND NEW STAGES

PRESS RELEASE

Hudson, NY: October 30, 2024 - After a month of focused planning, The Foundry at Hudson, in partnership with the City of Hudson, announces a Winter Walk 2024 that promises to be more vibrant and energetic than ever, with several exciting new features added to the beloved event.

In keeping with tradition, Winter Walk, now in its 27th year, will take place on the first Saturday in December, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.— with Kamal Johnson. ( City Mayor)

“We’ve been truly moved by the immediate support we’ve received from shop owners, the City of Hudson and local performing artists who’ve reached out to us. Everyone we talk to seems relieved that Winter Walk is going to occur and people are definitely rallying to make it happen with us. At this point, we’re really getting excited. It’s going to be a fantastic night with dozens of performers and vendors, fireworks and new features as well,” says Foundry Executive Director, Tim Banker.

Those new features include two performance stages: one to be located on the 300 block of Warren Street featuring the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus and a live percussion band and another stage at the corner of 5th and Warren featuring two more dance bands whose names will be announced at a later date. There will also be new street decorations to celebrate the 28 year old tradition.

On September 26th, Mayor Kamal Johnson along with The Foundry at Hudson stepped in to produce Winter Walk after longtime producer of the event, Hudson Hall, announced they could no longer play the leadership role. While Hudson Hall is no longer the organizational engine of the event, they will be open that night presenting a full lineup of Winter Walk performers inside their venue.

"Having grown up in Hudson, I understand the deep value of local traditions to this community. I’m honored to collaborate with The Foundry, guided by the blueprint provided by Hudson Hall. This year, we’re excited to present a fresh and engaging take on a cherished tradition." ~Mayor Kamal Johnson

Winter Walk begins on December 7th at 5pm on Warren Street in Hudson, which will be closed to traffic, and it concludes with a display of fireworks from Hudson’s Promenade Hill Park at 8pm courtesy of Hudson Hall. Please visit WinterWalk2024.org for more details, which we will regularly update with event news and information.

The Winter Walk 2024 producing partnership invites the community's ideas, input, and participation. Anyone interested in participating as a performer, vendor, volunteer, or sponsor please visit www.foundryhudson.org for more information.
